Required skills and experience:
- 5+ years experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX
- 5+ years experience with JavaScript frameworks (eg: jQuery, Ext JS, MooTools, etc…)
- 5+ years experience developing webapps for mobile and tablet
- 5+ years experience with server-side scripting language (PHP, Python, Ruby, etc…)
- 5+ years experience with database development (MySQL or PostgreSQL)
- CMS and MVC framework integration experience (Drupal or WordPress, Django, Typo3, Yii, CodeIgniter, Spring and Rails are nice to haves)
- Experience architecting and building large scale applications
- Experience in social API integration (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, Google APIs, etc…)
- Experience using performance, optimization, and cachinc tools (Siege, Memcache, Varnish, etc…)
- Minimum 5 years working in the digital industry
- B. CompSci or comparable combination of experience/education
- Sense of humour
Other assets:
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Have worked with mobile frameworks (jQuery Mobile, jQTouch, Sencha, etc…)
- Understanding of CSS preprocessing techniques (eg: LESS, SASS)
- Knowledge of other languages (Java, ActionScript, Visual Basic, etc…)
- Deep understanding of HTML5 and CSS3
- Ability to write comprehensive and coherent documentation (system diagrams, technical requirements, user workflows, etc…)
- Involvement in the web development community
